Dr Richard Frizzell Hunter

Hunter: 31st October 2024, peacefully at his sister's home in Ballyclare, Dr Richard Frizzell Hunter, Cullyhagan House, Lislea, Kilrea, son of the late Richard and Joan Hunter, nephew of the late John and Ruby Hunter, much loved brother of Maurna, dear brother-in-law of Mark and beloved uncle of Rebecca and Moses. Funeral took place on Saturday 2nd November to First Kilrea Presbyterian Churchyard. Sadly missed by his sorrowing family and the entire family circle.

We provide care and support for around 4,000 people living with a terminal illness, their carers and loved ones in Northern Ireland each year.

Nursing care 

There are more than 190 Marie Curie Nurses working in Northern Ireland, caring for around 3,250 terminally ill people and their families in their homes each year.

Hospices

Our hospice in Belfast cares for around 480 people each year, including people staying in the hospice and those coming in for the day to use the hospice’s services.

Helper volunteers

Our Helper volunteers regularly visit terminally ill people in their home or talk on the phone, offering companionship and emotional support, as well as practical help.

Funding

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, our services are offered free of charge to people with any terminal illness. We need to raise over £3.5 million a year to fund our hospices and nursing care in Northern Ireland.
